9. Short leash
The neck holds one of the strongest muscles in a dogs body. This is why it’s important to properly place the collar above the dog’s neck and below the head. The dog will not be able to pull you through the whole walk and ignore you when you try to make corrections. You gain so much control just by having the collar placed this way on the dog. When a correction needs to be made because the dog either wants to pull, or pick up a piece of trash, give the leash a quick upward tug to keep the dogs head up and in focus, correcting the behavior.
