Pesticides are linked to many types of illnesses such as cancer, neurological damage, birth defects and even early onset of parkinson’s disease. But just because something is labeled as organic doesn’t mean “pesticide-free”. They most likely are using organic processes, but the crop might still get contaminated by other sources such as spray drifts. The good news is that the amounts of chemicals are significantly lower than conventionally grown fruits and vegetables.
