9. The da Vinci Code

Best-Selling Books

This 2003 mystery novel revolves around one of the world’s favorite protagonists, Robert Langdon. Dan Brown openly addresses several controversies in the book which, admittedly, have made him unpopular among several staunch Catholics. He goes out to explain the tale of The Holy Grail and to form an alarmingly fascinating story around the concept. The book sold over 80 million copies. It is indeed remarkable how Dan Brown has managed to write a whole book on the proceedings of a single day while still making sure that the reader does not get to put the book down till the end!
